This Deep Cove ride through the beautiful mossy trails of the North Shore is one of our favourite rides! Get ready for some hike-a-bike, steep climbs, flowy single tracks, and, most importantly, loads of fun!

The loop from and to the north side of Second Narrows Bridge makes this an ideal ride for those coming from Burnaby or East Van. It’s on the spicier side, with some rooty and rocky sections, designed for those who seek more thrill or are ready to challenge themselves and push their comfort levels.

First, you head up Lynn Creek, a popular spot for dog walkers, so get ready for some puppy love. Watch out for those little cuties getting in front of your bike, they sure love to do that! 😅 Continuing towards Canyon Creek Park, the first hike-a-bike of the day starts with a steep climb to Seymour Heights.

Winding through the neighbourhood and crossing few shallow creeks you will get to one of my favourite places for a fun bike riding - Northlands Park. I recommend spending more time at this lovely spot, exploring as many trails as you can. Another bike pushing through some exposed roots (by a little waterfall!) before you get to the spicy section by the golf course. Once you reach the Parkgate Village, the hardest part is over and you will be able to ride the rest of the route without any obstacles.

After the fast downhill to Deep Cove I recommend stopping for coffee, snacks, or lunch while admiring the beautiful Belcara Mountains across the water. Peaceful Strathcona Lookout on the other side of Myrtle Park is a must-see destination with the view of Grey Rocks Island. Stop there for a little break or have a picnic.

Head back through the Dollarton neighbourhood by the water and hit a few more trails at Cates Park before riding the paved road back to the starting point.

Have fun and share your thoughts about the route with us! :)
